We would like to officially introduce Joe Gayda as our new head baseball coach.
There will be a meeting for any student interested in playing baseball on Wednesday January 6th at 6pm in the cafeteria.

Pat Vance Invitational

Don't forget we will be hosting the Pat Vance Invitational Wrestling Tournament Jan. 1 and 2nd.  Come out and support our boys as they compete.

Community Service Hours

Chili Dinner and Holiday Concert

The Nitro Showcats Annual Chili Dinner is scheduled for this evening,  December 15, 2015 at Nitro High School. Dinner will be held in the commons from 5:00pm until 6:30pm.  Price is $8.00 and includes chili, crackers, dessert, drink, and the show. Concert time is 7:00pm and  will be held in the auditorium. The Show will feature The Nitro Showcats, The Nitro Sophisticats Girl's Ensemble, Nitro High School Dance Class, and The Nitro High School Baton Twirling Team. We are also pleased to announce the Kanawha Kordsmen  as our special guests, who will also be performing.  Come out for a great show and a great time.

Important Senior Trip Information

The senior trip will be on Friday, May 13th. We will be going to Cedar Point. Cost of the trip is $100 and includes park admission, unlimited drinks, and transportation. To reserve your spot on the bus, you can bring in a $25 non-refundable cash deposit beginning Monday, December 14. Deposit must be made by Friday, December 18 to guarantee your spot. Any questions or to turn in your deposit, see Mrs. Douglas in the office.

NHS Cheer is hosting a Stella & Dot Trunk Show. Beautiful jewelry that makes the perfect Christmas gift. It will be held in the Nitro Commons Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9:00-12:00...if you can't make it, be sure to see a cheerleader or order online!

Saturday, December 19th NHS Cheer is hosting a ZUMBATHON in the gym! Come support the cheerleaders! Registration is at 8:30...dancing starts at 9:00! Prizes will be raffled off as well

We will go Christmas caroling this Friday, December 11th. Meet at Pt. Harmony Elementary at 6:45pm so we can carol at 7pm in Westbrook.

Tuesday, December 8-- Wear your RED to show your support for the Nitro High Boys Basketball as they travel to Winfield! Game time is 7:30 at Winfield.

Wednesday, December 9th-- Black Out-- Wear your Black and show your support for the Girls Basketball team as they take on Winfield here at Nitro. Game time is 7pm.

Branches Domestic Violence Donations

The Nitro High School Dance Team along with Winfield High Dance Team will be collecting diapers, gently used or new bras, and feminine hygiene products for Branches Domestic Violence Shelter. There will be a box set up for donations in the office and at basketball games. They will be collecting donations until December 18th.

Nitro Showcats

You're Invited...so, mark your calendars.   Longaberger Basket Bingo will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Nitro Moose Lodge (3rd Floor) Sponsored by the Nitro Showcats.  Doors open @ 5:00 pm, and the games begin at 6:00 pm.  Price is $20.00 for 20 games.  Concessions will be sold.   All proceeds go to support the Nitro High School Show Choir.
