2nd Round of Homecoming Voting

The 2nd Round of Homecoming voting is now open at bit.ly/NHSHomecoming1617B

Students have until the end of school on Friday to vote.

The top three seniors are attendants and other 3 winners are class attendants.

Homecoming Dance

 Homecoming Dance tickets may be purchased in Room 209 for $15 per person. The dance is October 1st from 7 to 10 in the commons. 100 tickets must be sold by September 16th in order for the dance to occur. No tickets will be sold at the door!

Homecoming Court Voting

Homecoming court voting is now open online at bit.ly/NHSHomecoming1617A. Students will be required to log into their @stu.kana.k12.wv.us accounts to vote. If students have not verified their @stu.kana.k12.wv.us they will need to see they social studies teachers to do so.
Voting will close after 2nd lunch on Monday 29th.

Mum Sale

Showcat and SophistiCat Fall Mum Sale. All mums are $6.00 and are available in Red, Yellow, Purple, and Bronze. The orders and money are due by Friday. Make Checks payable to Nitro Choral Boosters.

Show Choir

The Show Choir is in need of 4 more boys and one more girl for Showcats, and 1 more girl for SophistiCats All Girl's Show Choir. Also, any student interested in being in Show Band must see Ms. Amy in room B126 before Friday. Rehearsal will begin soon.

Pep Club

Pep Club will meet during Anchor on Wednesday, August 24th in the Aux gym. Only Pep Club members with Gold Passes are allowed to attend.

Homecoming Dance

 Homecoming Dance Tickets are on sale now with Mrs. Harless-- cost is $15 per student. Be sure to purchase yours today!

Football Game

This Friday, we will kick off our opening football game by having a black out-- we ask that everyone wear black to school on Friday to show our support for the Football Team as they travel to Poca!

Homecoming Voting

For Homecoming court voting we have put up a list of students by grade on the bulletin board by the office.  Ladies please look at the list to ensure that we have you listed and you are in the correct grade.  If there is an issue notify the office by the end of school on Wednesday 8/24/16.

The first round voting will take place this Thursday and Friday.  Students will need to log into their KCS google accounts (@stu.kana.k12.wv.us) to vote.

Homecoming Dance

LSIC Meeting

Our first Nitro High School Local School Improvement Council meeting will be this Tuesday at 5pm in the art room.  This meeting will be followed by the Kanawha County Area LSIC meeting at 6pm in the commons.  All of the board members will be present at the Area LSIC meeting and it is open to all feeder schools in the Nitro High School area.

Homecoming Dance

Tickets will go on sale, Monday, August 22 for our Homecoming Dance which will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 7pm-10pm. Cost per person is $15. The dance will be semi-formal. See Mrs. Harless in room 209 to purchase your ticket.

Meet the Team

Join us Friday, August 19th at 6:30 at the football field for our Meet the Teams and then follow the band to the library parking for our bonfire and other fun and games. We will have a dunking booth, pie in the face contest, smash the car, ice cream booth to name a few of the things. We hope to see everyone there!

Pep Club

There is still time to sign up for Pep Club. For $60 you will receive a Pep Club card which you can use for any home sporting event excluding playoffs and a t-shirt. See Mr. Burdette or Ms. Chandler to sign-up.

Show Choir

The Show Choir is looking for members in all parts in both choirs. Please contact Ms. Amy in Baker 126 to audition.

Optional iPad Damage Waiver

Students have until August 26th to return the Optional iPad Damage Waiver form and payment to the office(cash or money order).  Damage waiver forms are located on the KCS website http://kcs.kana.k12.wv.us/Page/learning-20-20 or can be pick up in Room 110 or the main office.

Show Choir

The Show Choir is looking for all parts, Girls and Boys, to complete their roster for Showcats Mixed Show Choir and Sophisticats Girl's Ensemble. Please see Ms. Amy in room B126 for details. We are also looking for male and female stage crew members.

Senior Shot Record

Senior need to get their shot record into the school nurse Ms. Evans ASAP.

Don't forget that we are take school pictures first thing tomorrow morning.  Senior when you arrive you need to report directly to the Gym.  Underclassmen will be reporting to their Anchor teacher.

Cross Country Meeting
