Baseball Tickets

Tickets for the opening baseball game which will be held on Friday, March 17th will be on sale during both lunches on Friday. Cost for a student ticket is $4.

Also, tickets for the opening softball double-header which will be held on Saturday, March 18th, will be sale during both lunches on Friday. Cost for a student ticket is $4.

Showcats

At Loveland Ohio, on February 25th, The Nitro ShowCats were awarded 2nd in their class, moved on to finals, and were awarded 4th runner up to Festival Grand Champions. John Brumley was awarded outstanding male soloist, and Angel Graham was awarded Outstanding Performer.

On March 4th, Louisa Smith was selected as a participant on the West Virginia Music Educators Honors Concert and was also selected as a member of the West Virginia All State Chorus.

On March 10th, 27 members of the ShowCats and SophistiCats were selected to the Kanawha County All County Chorus where they performed an outstanding concert, and made Nitro proud, wearing their brand new robes. Louisa Smith was selected as a soloist for Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Chelyan Smith was selected as a member of an Octet featured on It Takes a Village. Way to go Kids.

DECA members with gold pass meet in Mrs. Marshall's room Thursday, March 9th during anchor.

All Completers

All business and ROTC completers will meet during Anchor in Mrs. Marshall's room on Wednesday, March 8th. All gold pass students need to attend.

Talent Show

At Nitro High School we know we have tons of wildcats who have hidden talents. Wednesday, April 19th Nitro will be holding their own TALENT SHOW right here, during school--get excited.

March 22 we will start gathering talented acts who are interested in competing in this year's NHS TALENT SHOW. Be getting your acts together and coming up with a plan--more info later on when and how to sign up!

After Prom

The all night party of the year is on Saturday, May 6th. After Prom is open to all students at Nitro and has lots of activities for everyone laser tag, casino room, obstacle course, basketball, corn hole, bingo, movie, caricature drawings, bowling and more. There will be a Flash Sale this Wednesday, March 1st during both lunches, and the cost of the ticket will only be $5. After Wednesday, the tickets will be $10.

Attention Seniors: Cap and Gown pictures are tomorrow as well as make up Tux and Drape pictures. These are the pictures used as you walk across the stage at graduation, please check the lists posted on the bulletin boards to see what period you are to get your picture taken. Please report directly to the auxiliary gym at the beginning of your assigned period. We will also be doing the thank you videos if you didn't have that done for graduation.

Baseball Tryouts

Baseball tryouts will begin on Monday, February 27th. If you haven't already gotten a physical, you must have one before tryouts. Practice time will be announced Monday morning.
