Girls State

There will be a Girls State Information meeting at the American Legion Home in St. Albans this Sunday, April 24th from 3-5pm for any junior girls interested. For directions or more information please see Mr. Hayhurst or show up to the meeting Sunday.

Senior Video and Prom

We will be filming the senior video following graduation practice on Friday, April 29. Please wear a Nitro shirt (or Nitro colors) and bring your cap and gown. Make sure that your name is on both your cap and your gown. You won't want to miss this!! Tons of fun and surprises!!!


Prom is May 7th--only 2 weeks remain! Last day to order tickets is May 4th. The price is now 35$. Still taking shirt and blanket orders as well. See Mrs. Kerber in room 215

After Prom

Wildcats, time is running out for you to sign up for the all night lockin. Saturday, May 7th After Prom will be held at the school from 11:30pm until 5am. Try your hand at black jack, take on Mr. Redman in the laser tag room, or team up with your buddies to go up against Officer Blake at the bowling alley. Plus much more fun, food, and drink to keep you going. Cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. If you register by the end of the day on Monday, you will be entered in a drawing for a $75 VISA card and be guaranteed to get your shirt the night of After Prom. All others will receive their shirts after. See Mrs. Douglas to sign up.

Care Packages for Soldiers

RHO Kappa Social Studies Honor Society will be collecting items for care packages for soldiers starting Monday, April 25th and ending on Friday, May 6th. We are asking everyone to donate the following items: chap stick, sunscreen, baby wipes, beef jerky, trail mix, granola bars, gum, non-melting candy, playing cards, crossword puzzles or sudoku puzzles, rubik's cube and magazines. You can bring your donation to Ms. Chandler's in Room 212.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading Conditioning will be this week from 4:00-6:00. We will meet at the soccer field. If you are interested in coming out for cheer next season, please attend conditioning.

Prom

Cheer

Cheerleading Conditioning for the 2016-2017 season has begun. If you are interested in coming out for next year's season, make sure to come to conditioning so we can begin getting in shape as a team. We condition Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00.

After Prom

Wildcats the party of the year is coming up and EVERYONE is invited. After Prom 2016 will be held at the high school on May 7th from 11:30pm-5am. You do not have to go to prom to be able to attend after prom. It is an all night lock in with lots of activities, laser tag, magician, casino room, bingo, corn hole, caricatures, movies, and much more. New this year, we will be shuttling students to the bowling alley from 2-4am this year. Tickets are on sale now, $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The first 50 people signed up will be entered in a drawing for a $75 Visa gift card. All seniors will win a cash prize ranging from $20-$750. All students are able to use their casino winnings to bid on items such as gift cards and flat screen TV's! You don't want to miss out on this, see Mrs. Douglas with any questions.

Soccer Meeting

The Wildcat Soccer Club will have a parent information meeting, Monday May 9th at 6pm at the soccer field.  All soccer parents are encouraged to attend.

Blood Drive Scholarship

JROTC Announcement

Prom Dresses

Rhonda's Closet is where girls can go get FREE prom dresses, shoes, etc. if they would like. Rhonda's Closet has a huge selection of dresses to choose from in all sizes. Rhonda's Closet is located on the second floor of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Sissonville. (close to Sissonville High). She will be open every Saturday from 10 AM to noon throughout prom season.

Dance Team Tryouts

There will be an informational meeting about Dance Team Tryouts on Thursday, April 14th at 730pm in Commons.

Auditions for Showcats

Auditions for Showcats Mixed Show Choir, and Sophisticats All Girls Ensemble will take place next week.  A workshop to learn tryout material will take place April 11,13, 14 from 5-6:30 in the choir room, Baker 126. Tryouts will be held on Friday April 15th from 3:15 until finished.  Please see Ms. Amy for a tryout time.
All Parts are needed.  We are looking for up to 40 Girls for Sophisticats, and 44 members for Showcats.

Cancer Awareness Walk

Next Friday, April 15th, the Student Organizations of Nitro High School will be sponsoring a walk in honor of Autumn Cole and Cassie Roupe. Everyone is encouraged to walk to show their support for these two Wildcats. We also have donation forms available if you would like to collect monies on their behalf or give a donation yourself. Forms will be available in the office, from Ms. Chandler, Ms Neva, Ms Grant, and Mrs Harless. Get your form today and make a difference for Nitro Nation.
