On Saturday, The Nitro Showcats traveled to Beckley to compete in the WVMEA State Show Choir Competition. The Nitro Showcats competed against 11 other schools, and won several caption awards including:

Best Choreography
Best Choral Sound
Louisa Smith won Best Female Soloist
Bronson Dempsey won Best Instrumental Soloist
Dylan Carpenter won Best Performer
Finally the scores were announced and NITRO HIGH SCHOOL SHOWCATS were announced as STATE GRAND CHAMPIONS. Yes, Nitro has won their first STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, DE THRONING OUR RIVALS 5 MINUTES AWAY---POCA VISUAL VOLUME FROM THEIR MANY YEAR REIGN AS STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
